Study of Sweets
Brand Identity & Application · experiential design
Study of Sweets is a popular, family-owned chocolate shop known for its homemade chocolate bars and unexpected flavor combinations. While the shop had plenty of character built into its concept and recipes, its visual identity didn’t quite capture that personality. The goal was to create a brand identity that brought the playful spirit of the shop to life while giving it a cohesive and distinctive visual presence.
Inspired by the imperfect, messy nature of their chocolate bars, the identity balances an organic, handmade feel with a sense of refinement. A hand-drawn logo and custom illustrations are paired with a simple sans-serif typeface, creating a visual language that feels playful, approachable, and thoughtfully crafted.
The brand’s color palette takes inspiration from an unexpected detail: cocoa beans growing on the tree are actually purple. This became the foundation for a rich, playful color system that helps Study of Sweets stand apart from more traditional chocolate brands.
At the heart of the identity is a logo featuring two cocoa beans coming together to form a heart—a simple visual that captures the playful, almost childlike joy of loving chocolate. The identity extends beyond the logo through packaging and environmental branding, creating a cohesive experience throughout the shop.
Together, the illustrations, colors, typography, and environmental elements create a cozy and inviting brand designed to feel like a place you’d want to spend time in—sharing unique chocolate flavors and good company with friends.
