Poptismist

Brand Identity & Application  ·  packaging  ·  Illustration

This was a very quick conceptual project for a new healthier soda. With more and more better-for-you sodas popping up, the biggest challenge was finding a way for Poptimist to stand out on the shelf.

The idea was to flip the logo vertically around the can and use as much of the remaining space as possible to showcase each flavor in an unexpected, imaginative way.

The name Poptimist made me think of someone who is naturally positive, playful, and has a big imagination. I wanted that feeling to come through in the illustrations, asking, “What if strawberries weren’t just strawberries, but little sailboats?” or “If stemmed cherries could be anything else, what would they be?”

The result is a playful visual system where familiar fruits become unexpected little worlds, giving each can its own personality while making the flavors instantly recognizable.
